In addition to those DVDs that I have produced for All Day
Entertainment, I have had the privilege of working on a number of discs
for other companies as well.

SHERLOCK JR. & THE THREE AGES Silent / classic / comedy
Two Buster Keaton silent features at their best--restored for high
definition and presented with a smorgasbord of extras--including an
audio commentary on SHERLOCK JR. by me and a new documentary on the
film by my friend and colleague David Pearson.
FANTOMAS Silent / classic / thriller
Louis Feuillade's phenomenally popular and influential serialized
suspense thrillers from 1913-1914, with English subtitles and audio
commentary by yours truly. This superb package also includes two rare
Feuillade films, THE NATIVITY and THE DWARF. Simply fantastic! Also, is
it just me or this the coolest looking box art Kino has ever had?
CITY
GIRL Silent / classic / drama
F.W. Murnau made this poetic-realistic masterpiece in 1928/29 but it
was shelved until 1930 when it was finally released in a bastardized
talkie-hybrid using footage shot after Murnau quit. Decades
passed before the original cut was restored--and here it is, on 1080p
Blu-Ray from Masters of Cinema, with an audio commentary by me to help
put it into context in Murnau's career.
THE
COMPLETE
FRITZ
LANG
MABUSE (Box Set) Silent / classic / foreign / thriller / espionage / pulp
This box set from Masters of Cinema collects THE definitive editions of
all three of Fritz Lang's Dr. Mabuse thrillers (1922, 1933, and 1960),
with superior transfers and more complete editions than any previous
DVDs--and I provide running audio commentaries on all 9 hours of it!
Yeah, the All Day DVD of 1000 EYES OF DR. MABUSE is out of print and
netting huge prices on ebay--but if you can play this Region 2 PAL set,
this is better in every possible way. No kidding.
THE
FINANCES OF THE GRAND DUKE (Masters of Cinema) Silent / classic / drama
For international customers interested in Murnau's little-seen THE
FINANCES OF THE GRAND DUKE but who would prefer a PAL Region 2 edition,
this Masters of Cinema disc is just the ticket--and this version uses
the same audio commentary as the Kino disc below.
MURNAU
(6
DVD
Box
Set) Silent / classic / horror / drama
I had the great privilege of recording an audio commentary for the
first-ever American release of Murnau's little-seen THE FINANCES OF THE
GRAND DUKE. If I tell you this is a pulp mystery in the style of Arsene
Lupin, written by Thea von Harbou and photographed by Karl Freund,
you'll get the wrong idea. Think screwball comedy, think Cary Grant.
From Murnau? You bet.
HARRY
LANGDON:
THREE'S
A
CROWD Silent comedy / classic
THREE'S A CROWD is a misunderstood masterpiece, and one of the most
singular artistic achievements of the 1920s. I am honored to accompany
this glorious high-definition restoration with an audio commentary--and
the excellent DVD also features a reconstructed presentation of
Langdon's last surviving silent feature. This is must-have stuff, folks.
GHIDRAH
THE
THREE-HEADED
MONSTER Science fiction / monsters / Japanese
Available alone or as part of a superb box set, this nifty
disc presents the original Japanese edition of this Godzilla flick and
its alternate English language American cut. I provide an audio
commentary, which was a thrill because this is my favorite Godzilla
movie of all.
THE
TESTAMENT OF DR. MABUSE Thriller / espionage / German / pulp
Fritz Lang's masterpiece from 1933 gets the full Criterion Collection
treatment in this deluxe package. I provide an audio commentary on the
definitive restoration on disc 1, while disc 2 presents the French
version (shot with a different cast!) and a featurette I made
dissecting the differences between the German, French, and American
versions.
SCARLET
STREET Thriller / film noir
Fritz Lang, Eddie Robinson, Joan Bennett, sex, humiliation, and murder.
And I provide an audio commentary, if that ain't enough to entice you.
EYES
WITHOUT
A
FACE Horror / thriller / French New Wave
Georges Franju's best known and most memorable film--said to
have caused audiences to faint back in the day, done right as only
Criterion can. No audio commentary this time, guys, but I did write the
liner notes.
CRY
OF THE OWL Thriller / French / arthouse The classic French thriller based on a novel by Patricia
Highsmith, directed by Claude Chabrol.
Australian edition from Umbrella
THE
1000 EYES OF DR. MABUSE Thriller / German / pulp

the grave to torment a Cold War world.
German edition from Polyband
THE
TESTAMENT OF DR. MABUSE Thriller / German / pulp
A trippy remake of Fritz Lang's 1933 masterpiece, made in the style of
an Edgar Wallace krimi.
German edition from Polyband
THE
HORROR OF HAMMER Horror / compilation
The history of England's fabled House of Horror, as seen through its
coming attractions previews.
